Putting the “OO” in Food

GAP is proud to be a sponsor at the first Newmilns Food Festival which is taking place on September 17th 2016 at Jamieson Park in Newmilns.

Jo Lloyd said “We’re really looking forward to the Food Festival and are proud to be able to sponsor this showcase of local food and drink. GAP Communications enjoys supporting the local community to deliver a high quality event in the town. The programme sounds fantastic and we’ll be encouraging others to support the event.”

Recycling and Re-Use

We’ve recently completed a number of pieces of work based around re-cycling and re-use and how, through a bit of “Thinking Ahead”, household goods - things like pots & pans, crockery & cutlery, lamps, etc - can be prevented from going to landfill.

Through the work, we identified a number of routes to collecting and collating goods in a meaningful fashion and ways to distribute those goods onwards to people in need so minimising the amount of waste created.

Rhythm & Blues

It’s amazing what you get up to when you advise on marketing. Most marketers are great at banging a big drum for their clients’ services (or themselves) but it’s not often you get to do it for real. Jo’s been working with a music industry client who let her do just that on a very large drum. Jo said “the clients offer drumming as a stress reliever and, after having had a go, I can quite understand why it works. You imaging the stress on the drum face and then give it a wallop - very satisfying”.

Amusement aside, GAP developed and delivered a marketing strategy and marketing plan for the client, and then worked with them to drive expansion into new market areas.

Dancing the Summer Away

We’ve been recommissioned by one of our favourite social enterprise clients, a dance company, to work with them to develop and market a new social enterprise concept. Driven by young people, with strong employability aims, we’ll be helping to drive the commercial aspects of the new business.

It’s an exciting time for everyone connected with the company: the energy and infectious enthusiasm of the young people we’re working with is a real tonic in this dreadfully damp apology for a summer.

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

We’re delighted to announce that we have achieved ISO 9001 for Quality and ISO 14001 for Environment. It’s been hard work achieving these standards but well worth it.
